What are the reasons you decided to plant a church in your city (if your church is a plant)? : not yet planting – beginning by partnering with a plant to cultivate a heart for church planting within congregation to eventually plant

What have you seen the Lord do in and through your church/church plant? The Lord has established and kept this church. Over the years there have been many victories and many struggles, seasons of harvest and seasons of barrenness. The Lord has been faithful to persevere this congregation and there’s no reason to not be excited about the season we are in and headed towards.

What do you hope to see the Lord do in and through your church in the future? Our staff is currently made up of two former missionaries and two former church planters. Our vision is to be a place to raise up godly leaders and multiply them and send them out. We want our people to reach those in Lexington County, those in our state, and send them out to the nations.

What advice do you have for current or future church planters? Trust in God’s love for His bride, the Church. Trust in His promises to His saints. Stick to His ways and not gimmicks. Do not grow weary or impatient – He is faithful – He will surely do it!

What else would you like to share with the readers of our blog? On top of our partnership with The Church at Blue Ridge, we also partner with Cambodia Baptist Church in Welford, SC who we want to serve, equip, and help reach the nations in our own state. We also are in the beginning stages or searching out partnerships in Nicaragua and Japan and we have an ongoing partnership with pastors who train pastors and evangelize the villages of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is our goal in the next five years to plant a church through LMBC, and then let that be the catalyst for a church planting culture for years to come, Lord willing.

What are your 3-4 main prayer requests? We are in a revitalization process. Pray for the Lord to revive hearts that are here and to quicken them to return to their first love. Pray that God would help us to reach the unchurched that are surrounding our campus. Finally, pray that God would cultivate a heart for evangelism, missions, and church planting in our people so we don’t hide His gospel light and know the joy of boldly proclaiming Christ.
