What are the reasons you decided to plant a church in your city?

Even with many churches in our area, a group of families wanted a local fellowship that simply focused on the gospel, expositional preaching, and true biblical community.

What have you seen the Lord do in and through your church/church plant?

We are so thankful for all that the Lord has done! Examples include seeing our church grow through both the local resident community and through our Air Force base.   The saints at Crossway are a giving people, including serving the community and also giving to mission work locally, nationally, and globally.

What do you hope to see the Lord do in and through your church in the future?

To tether us all the more to Christ, our beautiful Lord and to each other as happily dependent members of His body. To grow tremendously in grace while being the type of compelling community that God adds to through conversion. To continue to minister to folks from our Air Force base and the local community.

What advice do you have for current or future church planters?

In Church Planting is for Wimps, Mike McKinley rightly brings our focus back to “letting the Word do the work.” Planting and pastoring are not two totally different things. Do the work of an evangelist, and shepherd the flock that God sees fit to raise up.
Do the work of an evangelist, and shepherd the flock that God sees fit to raise up.
What else would you like to share with the readers of our blog?

We are thankful for the Pillar Network, the Southern Baptist Convention, and the huge blessing of having a sending church like Christ Community and a “grandmother” church like Open Door in Raleigh.

What are your 3-4 main prayer requests?

1) Contentment with where we currently meet (a good location) but also wisdom in a future meeting place 2) To see people converted to Christ 3) Continued growth in Acts 2 type of fellowship and devotion 4) That we would be a truly happy people in the Lord
