What are the reasons you decided to plant a church in your city? I love our city, more specifically the people in our city. From present day Montagnards to the history of the Greensboro Four our city has been at the center of diversity and multicultural sensitivity. As leaders we believe God has led us to this place to plant a church that will act like Jesus and look like Greensboro, with the courage of its past, the variety of the present, and a hope for its future.

What have you seen the Lord do in and through your church/church plant? God has used our church to see people in the city come to hear the gospel from different racial, cultural, and economic backgrounds. We have seen 40 something men baptized, professing faith in Christ as family and friends look on. We have seen God give us the opportunity to minister to hundreds of kids through soccer who would have never come to church. But the thing that stands out the most to me is that my brother and sister-in-law followed God’s call and were baptized. For those who have family that do not know Christ, don't lose hope, keep the faith, for God is on His throne.

What do you hope to see the Lord do in and through your church in the future? We are in the midst of a transition to a new location. We hope that the Lord honors our faithfulness to move by bringing more souls in need of his love and grace to our church. There is a great need in our city for other churches like ours. We hope that from us and others the present need for racial unity will find its answer in the cross of Christ.

What advice do you have for current or future church planters? Pour yourself in scripture and prayer. Memorize 2 Timothy 4:1-5, Psalm 56:1-13, 2 Timothy 1:7, and Habakkuk 2:14.

What are your 3-4 main prayer requests?

  1. As we move to a new location that God will prepare our people to minister, and that God will bring new people whom he will save to our congregation.
  2. That our people will be filled with the Spirit to persevere for the sake of the gospel.
  3. That God’s Spirit would go before us in all we do, and we would see his glory on display.
